No fewer than 25 students lost their lives when a bomb blast occurred in Yola Mosque
according to Vanguard news.
The State Commissioner for Higher Education, Alhaji Hamid Rufai, presented this information spoke with newsmen in Yola on Saturday.He said that 4 out of the 25 lost their lives while the rest sustained various degrees of injury which might not be life threatening.
The mosque which was affected by the blast belonged to the polytechnic community. It is said to be located on the Jambutu campus,which is about five kilometres away from the main campus. The death tore has increased by 6 which now rounds all the number of those who lost their lives to be 33 and not 27 which was reported earlier. These numbers has been confirmed by the The NEMA Coordinator in the state, Mr Saad Bello and his counterpart of Nigerian Red Cross, Malam Aliyu Maikano.
A Federal Government’s delegation led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr Lawal Babachir, has visited Yola to commiserate with Government and people of Adamawa.The team visited Government House, Lamido’s palace as well as the state Special Hospital and Federal Medical Centre to see the patients.
